Greenswell, the farm

A controlled-environment farm running now, producing thousands of pounds of lettuce and greens a month. It is a thermodynamic machine for turning heat into food — which is exactly what the data center has to give away.

Indoor greenhouse

Greenswell — a controlled-environment farm operating today. Eats the waste heat, grows local food year-round, and runs on GreenOS for operational excellence.

Sells AI computing. Draws power and water; gives off roughly 54 MW of usable heat around the clock. Liquid cooling returns it at 50–65 °C — hot enough for the farm to use directly.

The community math

A data center standing alone is what communities fight against.

The Citizen RFP
Before a developer writes a proposal, the community should write the Request for Proposal.

A Request for Proposal is an instrument issued before anyone bids: every proposal that comes back is written to answer it. In a Citizen RFP, the community issues the request to the data center facility development industry — publishing its terms on noise, water, grid cost and tenant disclosure, and naming the lasting value it wants in return, before a developer has drawn anything. The argument, the evidence, and a free model RFP any county can adapt.

Understand the GreenPlex architecture

Three legs, one architecture — how each part of the campus is organized, from the people at the top to the buildings on the ground.

The idea in one paragraph

Every leg of the GreenPlex triangle — the farm, the community research center, and the data center — runs the same four-level stack. At the top, a human director. Below them, operating software: the code that runs the operation day to day. Informing that software, a written blueprint: the design spec that defines what the operation is for and how it must behave. And at the bottom, the facility itself. Same architecture, three times over; only the contents change.

The four levels

1. Humans. Each of the three building blocks has a director — a person accountable for the leg, not a committee.

2. Operating software. One per leg, fixed mapping. Together they run to over a million lines of code, and they are the operational and financial management foundation of a GreenPlex campus:

3. Blueprint (design spec). Sits directly below the operating software, because that's what it is: the spec that informs the software above it and specifies the facility below it.

4. Facility.

Why the stack matters

The blueprint level is the load-bearing one. It means each operating-software module isn't generic software with settings — it's the executable form of a written, inspectable design spec. When the community asks "what keeps the data center honest?", the answer is a document (the mission statement) and the software that enforces it (StackOS). The same pattern gives the farm its economics and the research center its method.
